Peggy Nzomo, University Libraries, is the 2016 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Committee’s “Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund.” She received this award at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress held Aug. 13-19 in Columbus, Ohio. She also was one of 50 librarians who received the 2016 IFLA Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Fellows scholarship.

As part of the university’s þҹӰԺѹۿ State of Wellness initiative, þҹӰԺѹۿ is becoming a smoke-free, tobacco-free campus. A part of the university’s Strategic Roadmap to a Distinctive þҹӰԺѹۿ State, all þҹӰԺѹۿ State campuses will be smoke- and tobacco-free beginning July 1, 2017, fostering the wellbeing of the university community and the environment.
þҹӰԺѹۿ's Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Swathi Ravichandran, Ph.D., will join the Office of the Provost in August to serve as the 2017-2018 Provost's Fellow.
The Division of Business and Finance is changing its name, effective July 1. The new name will be the Division of Finance and Administration. The change will align more closely with the services provided by the departments in the division and provide consistency with the nomenclature of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich has appointed Donald L. Mason of Zanesville, Ohio, to a three-year term on the þҹӰԺѹۿ Board of Trustees. Mason’s appointment began May 19, 2017, replacing the unexpired term of the late trustee Richard Marsh, which runs through May 2020.
