The þҹӰԺѹۿ Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve international reaccreditation. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA), the program requires agencies to meet state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
þҹӰԺѹۿ at Tuscarawas has been officially accepted into the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The announcement was made at the USCAA national convention in Richmond, Virginia. The application for USCAA membership was submitted in March.
Beginning with 2016 Fall Semester, the campus will offer men's and women's basketball and cross country, men's golf, women’s volleyball and bowling. Wrestling and soccer are among the sports that will be added to the Golden Eagles athletic program during the 2017-18 academic year.
Angela Anikienko, a þҹӰԺѹۿ junior nursing student from LaGrange, Ohio, completed the United States Institute for Kangaroo Care’s® certification course at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in June. Anikienko, who received a sponsorship from the institute to attend the course, was one of only three Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students in the nation to earn the certification.
The 23rd annual Celebrating College Teaching conference will take place Oct. 20-21 at the þҹӰԺѹۿ Student Center. The University Teaching Council’s annual conference focuses on the four pillars of a þҹӰԺѹۿ State undergraduate curriculum — knowledge, insight, responsibility and engagement.
