Peggy Nzomo, University Libraries, is the 2016 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Committee’s “Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund.” She received this award at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress held Aug. 13-19 in Columbus, Ohio. She also was one of 50 librarians who received the 2016 IFLA Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Fellows scholarship.

Three community members have been named to the Tuscarawas County University Branch District Board of Trustees and the Tuscarawas County University Foundation at þҹӰԺѹۿ at Tuscarawas.

Ratchneewan Ross, associate dean of the Ph.D. program and director of international initiatives at þҹӰԺѹۿ’s College of Nursing, will be inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in October.

þҹӰԺѹۿ will hold its Summer 2016 Commencement ceremony for the þҹӰԺѹۿ Campus on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.

Each summer, 15 female high school students receive a free, three-day camp experience through the Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation Fund and þҹӰԺѹۿ’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology.
Jo Dowell, Ph.D., assistant professor and research faculty in the College of Nursing, presented her research findings at the 27th Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Research Congress in Cape Town, South Africa.


þҹӰԺѹۿ President Beverly Warren has announced the appointment of Stephen Sokany, an alumnus and longtime employee, to the position of vice president for institutional advancement, effective Aug. 8, 2016. Sokany has served the university since 1993 in a number of development and institutional advancement roles, most recently as executive associate vice president for institutional advancement. Sokany replaces Jeff McLain, who stepped down from the position Aug. 1, 2016.
þҹӰԺѹۿ’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Susan Stocker, Ph.D., has been appointed interim dean and chief administrative officer of þҹӰԺѹۿ at Geauga, located in Burton, Ohio, and þҹӰԺѹۿ State’s Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg, effective Aug. 20, 2016. Stocker has led þҹӰԺѹۿ State Ashtabula as dean and chief administrative officer since 2001 and will continue in this role.
