�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State is getting a lot of love these days! Leading up to its first-round game in the NCAA Men’s Division I Tournament, the men’s basketball team has received major shoutouts on social media.

Cathi and Rob Eberly, ’70, are just a couple of the many long-time �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State supporters who have made their way to Albany, New York, for the NCAA Tournament. Their passion for the Golden Flashes goes well beyond wins and losses.

Players, Coach Ready To Roll On Eve of NCAA Tournament Game

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Today met with three �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State men’s basketball players along with head coach Rob Senderoff. These four Golden Flashes shared what it means to them to be participating in the NCAA Tournament and their love for basketball and their team. 

Big Man With Big Smile Not Afraid of Big Moments

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State’s 6’9” center with a deep, booming voice is an imposing force having earned a spot in the starting rotation during his freshman year, but spend a few moments with the team’s top big man — the oldest of seven children — and you’ll find him friendly and approachable.

What a Difference a Year Makes

Chris Payton and Miryne Thomas committed to �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State one day apart last April. While they didn’t know one another, they bonded as transfer players and have helped lead their team to March Madness.

Golden Eagles Basketball Alumnus Named Coach of the Year

Former Golden Eagles basketball standout, Zach Camporese, has just been voted high school Coach of the Year in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, 6A, District 9 and Overall Coach of the Year for all classifications of District 9 by his peers.

�þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� State Alumna, now U.S. Congresswoman Emilia Sykes U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes addresses the power of a public university education.

While a student at �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ�, U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-OH-13) dreamed of taking the stage as a dancer in New York City, not as a congresswoman in Washington, D.C. But today she’s a star in the eyes of many, with her federal legislative debut drawing attention beyond Northeast Ohio. 

During her visit to �þ���ҹ����ӰԺ��ѹۿ� at Stark on March 14, Congresswoman Sykes talked about the power of a public education that’s affordable and close to home.

Analyzing Cancer Migration So We Can Stop It

Hanbin Mao and Yaorong Zheng, both professors of chemistry and biochemistry, are conducting research on the mechanical modulation of cell migrations using DNA nanoassemblies to stop cancer migration.
