How do I check my balances?

Can I award mid-year?
No, scholarships must be awarded at the start of semesters as students must have a balance on their account to accept the funds. 

Scholarship administration training is available from the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid as needed and typically occurs at key points throughout the year. You can request training by reaching out to their office at finaid_scholarships@kent.edu. 

• When working with your DPAE contact to create a new scholarship, make the criteria as broad as possible.
• It is important to award scholarships on a regular basis as funds are available. Donors intend for their gifts to be used expeditiously.

Contact your area’s project manager for guidance on email outreach. If you don’t know who your project manager is, please consult your college or area’s marketing team.

Why can't I keep my own list and send my own emails?
DPAE is responsible for maintaining updated alumni and donor data to ensure that it is  accurate. Also, DPAE keeps track of opt-outs and exclusions to avoid legal issues related to sending unwanted messages.

What is the Click Rate vs. Open Rate?
Open rates are no longer a reliable metric when measuring the success of an email. Clicks and click-through rates (CTR) are much more accurate and provide greater insight into your message’s performance. 

• All alumni lists must be managed by DPAE.

• DPAE Communications uses Slate as its platform for all alumni and donor/friend email communication from all areas across the university system. DPAE Communications team manages this platform and university partners outside of DPAE will not require training or access.
